WHAT'S MISSING?
I spent this holiday week at my friend's beautiful home. I took care of her two pugs and sipped my tea in her backyard. As beautiful as her home is and as much as I enjoyed the quiet, something was different. All the usual backyard birds graced her yard, robins, gold finches, cardinals, catbirds, blue jays, crows, even an eagle flew high in the sky above me, with the very brave red winged black bird darting at it's tail feathers.
After awhile I realized what was different. The birds, they kept their distance. They were not familiar with me. You see, when I am at home and step out of my house, the birds have come to recognize me. I put out seeds in the winter, water baths are placed randomly through out the yard in the summer. When they fly over to see what I am doing, I will whistle softly to them hoping that I am communicating kindness to them. I guess you could say we have an enjoyable relationship.
But, it did get me thinking.
Is this how the Lord feels when He sees us and we just go about our business and don't have fellowship with Him? Does He feel like something is missing? I only hope I never make Him feel this way. I will remember that the Lord is in my garden, welcome His presence, and spend time with Him.
.......with my song will I praise Him

THE WHOLE CREATION PRAISES GOD
Have you read Psalm 86? Go get your bible and read it! Oh, my! God is so good! Even the creation praises our God. I have been around a lot of animals in my life time and if you open your eyes and look and listen, you will see them praising God. My husband and I were at a bird sanctuary in the Catskill region of New York. It was a moment that made you close your eyes, take a deep breath and breathe out praise. There was nobody else there, just us, our daughter, and God's creation. The air was brisk, a gentle breeze, and a pair of Canadian geese. This goose was praising the Creator. Look! The wings are up, the chin is up and he or she was honking. What a wonderful moment to experience. We are not to worship the creation, but we can enjoy and give praise to God when we see the creation worshipping Him.

The Lord is Good to All!
Have you read Psalm 145 lately? Wow! He is good to all! Who wouldn't want to know our God? What is there to be afraid of? His tender mercies are over all His works. Who would want to turn their backs from that? He is gracious. He is full of compassion. Have any of these words struck terror in any one's heart yet? Gee, He is even slow to anger. I am really glad He is my God.
OK, I know some of you are thinking about all the nasty things that happen in this world. Excuse me my friend, ever hear about the god of this world? Notice I used lower case g? We do have an adversary and it isn't our God. Take a look at 1 Peter 5:8; your adversary the devil is seeking whom he may devour, but let's not spend much time on him.
I haven't mentioned the beauty He put around us. See those beautiful Moon Lilies up there? I sure did not make them. I had the joy of taking a picture of them. Then my husband utilized a little graphic design so we may use it as a card. We place the card on our night stand and other places throughout the house. Then we have the privilege of remembering His goodness when we rest our heads on our pillows or send it to a friend to encourage them through life's journey.
Because the Lord is good to all, all thy works shall praise Him.

Voice of Triumph
This is a picture of some of my favorite flowers. They are affectionately called "Johnny Jump Ups". They are such delicate looking flowers, and they are so tiny, but yet, they are some of the hardiest flowers in the northeast region of New York.
To me these delicate flowers look bold, standing so straight. It's as if they are not aware they are tiny and low to the ground. It made me think of us as children of the Most High. The world may not think much of us, so what, we know who we are, because, we know our Heavenly Father. We are a hardy people. Maybe at times we may feel small, like these beautiful flowers, but that is only because we are looking at ourselves. Look away from yourself and look at your Heavenly Father.
Stand tall, because, the Lord most high is a great King over all the earth and He is for us, He is on our side. You are beautiful and hardy just like these flowers, because your God reigns over the nations
