RECIPE FOR A PERFECT HEART

I love the Red Winged Blackbird.  I love the sound of his courting call and the way he ruffles his feathers when he is showing off to his mate.  

My husband and I agreed that this verse fit the picture.  He is making it very clear that this is his house.

RECIPE FOR A PERFECT HEART

1. He will sing of judgment and mercy to God.    

2. His eyes will be upon the faithful of the land.

3. He will fellowship with the faithful..

4. He will hire the faithful.

5. He will behave himself wisely.

WHAT TO NOT ALLOW IN THE MIXING BOWL

(wash out the bowl and start over if any does get in)

1. No wicked things before your eyes

2. Don't let the work of those that reject God cleave to you.

3. Get rid of a froward heart in yourself.

4. Don't get to know wicked people.

5. Don't hang out at all with those that slander their neighbor.

6. Don't spend time with one that thinks too highly of himself.

7. Don't have a deceitful person work for you.

8. Don't hang out with a person that tells lies.

ALWAYS SPRINKLE THE RECIPE GENEROUSLY WITH:

Forgiveness

and

Love

(for yourself and others, remember, this is a lifelong recipe that improves with the making)

The Lord is Gracious and Full of Compassion

I wanted to title this post with the latter half of this verse.  We truly have a GREAT BIG WONDERFUL GOD!

Many times I hear people talking about God's wrath or judgment or testing.  Then I come across verses such as the one in this image. 

Sometimes, we forget His wonderful works and walk away from His banner, which is love.  When we walk out from under His banner, we get wet, and for what?  Something the world has to offer?  Does the world have anything that can compare with what our God has already given, and what He will give, as we walk with Him?

He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered!

TWO ALPACAS

I love this picture!  I loved taking it and it makes me smile every time I look at these TWO ALPACAS.  From the moment I saw these two, I could tell they were a couple.  Even amongst all the animals that were there with them, these two came across as true mates.  I think that is how it should be when we are with our own spouses; people should know without even asking that you and your spouse are one.

My husband pointed out the context of  Matthew 18:20 is forgiveness.  I thought this would be appropriate for Valentine's Day, for at the center of any good relationship is forgiveness.  I have seen people hold on to grudges thinking they were punishing the other person.  When in reality they are hurting themselves.  There is freedom in having a heart that can forgive.  Also, on the other side is the freedom to stop doing what it is that bugs your spouse.  Matter of fact, let it be a secret Valentine gift.  Then watch the peace you will also receive from giving the gift.
